Lauretha Price Smith 93 widow of Henry Cephas H.C. Smith of 2148 Mower St. Newberry died Thursday October 27 2011. Mrs. Smith was born on August 4 1918 in Gilbert SC a daughter of the late Betha Craps Price and. Erskin Crosson Price. She was an active member of the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer the George B. Cromer Sunday School Class the Women of the ELCA and an honorary member of the Miriam Circle. She was a caring devoted homemaker for many years. She will be remembered as a loving and gracious wife mother grandmother and great grandmother. Many wonderful and special memories of her are treasured by her children grandchildren and friends. Mrs. Smith is survived by two daughters and their husbands Sandra and Rodger Hawkins of Greer S.C. JoAnn and Bill Anderson of Mt. Pleasant SC; one son and his wife Gene and Linda Smith of Lexington SC; eight grandchildren Brad Hawkins Lindsay (Kevin) Thalinger Ryan Albers Reagan (Neil) Ferguson Presley (Jason) Painter Lauren (Jimmy) Butts Craig (Christine) Smith and Paige (Kevin) Bobo; ten great grandchildren; daughter-in-law Sue Smith Stover of Greer SC; sister-in-law Faye Smith of West Columbia and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and her husband of almost 72 years she was predeceased by a son Robert Bob Smith a brother Greever Price and a sister Melba Robert Warner. The family did receive friends from 1:00 -2:00 PM Sunday in the Family Life Center of the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer Funeral services were conducted at 2:30 PM Sunday at the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer by Rev. Dr. David Seymour. Interment was in Newberry Memorial Gardens Memorials may be made to the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer 1515 Boundary Street Newberry SC 29108.
