Laurie Lee Derrick 48 of 301 Quail Walk Trail Chapin died Tuesday November 25 2008 at Lexington Medical Center. Born on April 9 1960 she was the daughter of Roxie and Sam Derrick and was employed as a flight attendant for American Airlines. Laurie was a 1982 graduate of Clemson University and also held a degree from the University of South Carolina. She was a member of Chapin United Methodist Church Delta Delta Delta Sorority and the Clemson Alumni Association. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family especially her nieces and nephews.Surviving are her parents of Little Mountain; two sisters Lou Barnes (Jim) of Greenville and Roxie Moore (Paul) of Prosperity; three nieces Jamie Megan and Betsy Barnes; and two nephews Sam and Matt Moore. Visitation was Thursday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Whitaker Funeral Home in Chapin. Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday November 28 at Chapin United Methodist Church by Rev. Jody Flowers. Interment were in Holy Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery Little Mountain.The family was at the home of her parents Sam and Roxie Derrick 255 Church Street Little Mountain SC 29075.Active pallbearers were Carroll Derrick Al Derrick Barry Derrick Barney Derrick Dennis Koon Andrew Frick Sam Moore and Matt Moore.The family suggests memorials be made to Chapin United Methodist Church Building Fund 415 Lexington Ave. Chapin SC 29036 or to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church Building Fund P.O.
