Lavada Ann Preston Teseniar, 64, of Newberry died Sunday, February 13, 2022 at her residence. Born on January 16, 1958, she was a daughter of Willis George Preston and the late Rachel Moates Preston. Ann married Joe Teseniar and they built a life and family together for more than 40 years. With his work, they lived in a variety of places in South Carolina, Georgia, Virginia, and Scotland. Wherever life took them, Ann found work she loved and ways she could excel. Upon moving back to Newberry, Ann became part of the Bill and Fran's team and worked there for more than 14 years. Ann enjoyed her hobbies which included craft projects, gardening, cooking and fishing. She could spend hours playing cards, Yahtzee, and various other games. She was funny and enjoyed being around others. Although Ann was tough at times, she was tender hearted and would do all she could to care for others. She loved her friends and family, and being Nana to her grandchildren. Ann is survived by her husband, Joe Teseniar of Newberry; children, Christopher Teseniar and Adam Teseniar (Tomi); grandchildren, Bailey, Skyler, Lander, and Parker Teseniar; sisters, Wanda P Coats (Guy, Sr.) and Lisa P Padgett (Kojack); brothers, Dean Preston, George "Bubba" Preston, David Preston, and Michael Preston; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her mother, she was predeceased by her sister-in-law, Judy Preston; nephews, George Hazel, Patrick Padgett, and Wesley Shealy; and great-nephew, Brier Bouknight. A gathering of family and friends to honor and celebrate Ann's life will be held on Thursday, February 24, 2022 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Whitaker Funeral Home, Newberry.
