Leif Gar Kargaard, age 72 of Prosperity, died May 19, 2023 at his home.

Born November 28, 1950 in Arlington, MA, he was a son of Alf and Jeanette Rosenthall Kargaard. He was married to Sandra Lee Sellers Kargaard.

Leif enjoyed fishing, gun collecting, and cooking on the grill. He found joy in spending time with his wife and family, including trips to Maine for family reunions.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters and Heather Hildebrandt of Tarpon Springs, FL , Stephanie M. Dillard of Aiken, SC; a brother, Alf Kargaard; and grandchildren, Kristen Macy Hildebrandt, Garith Chase Hildebrandt, Dillon Hildebrandt of Tarpon Springs, FL, Tara Danielle Thomas of Prosperity, and Lindsey Madison James of Aiken of Smyrna, GA.

He was preceded in death by his sisters, Lyn Kargaard and Kim Kirchner.
