Leland Richard Hiller, Sr., 94, of Gray Court, South Carolina, died Friday, October 11, 2024, at his home, surrounded by his family.

Born on July 24, 1930, in Newberry, SC, he was a son of the late Evelyn Boozer and Berley "Doc" Leland Hiller. He was the husband of the late Vivian Clark Hiller.

Leland was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Taylors, South Carolina.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force. He joined the Army after high school and later joined the Air Force. During his enlistment in both branches, he was stationed in Germany with his wife, Vivian, who was enlisted as an Air Force Nurse. They lived in Germany for the remainder of his service, and then returned home to South Carolina. He was proud to have served his country.

He was often known to be a quiet and private man, who was very routine and organized. He liked watching old time western television shows and enjoyed them with his unsalted crackers and a slice of cheese.

His favorite enjoyment in life was Time spent with family and the memories made, especially those with his grandson and great- granddaughter.

He is survived by his son, Leland R. Hiller, Jr. (Deborah); daughter, Debra Hiller; grandson, Brian Hiller (Emily); great-granddaughter, Willow Hiller; and brother, Arnold Hiller.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Vivian C. Hiller, and brother, Joel H. Hiller.

Graveside services will be held 2:00 PM, Tuesday, October 22,2024, at Rosemont Cemetery.
