Leon M. Shealy 83 formerly of 206 Elm Street Prosperity widower of Frances Counts Shealy died Wednesday November 10 2004 at Lowman Home.Mr. Shealy was born on May 5 1921 in Little Mountain a son of the late L. Magnus and Mary Stoudemire Shealy. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a retired employee of South Carolina Electric & Gas. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church where he was a former member of the Congregational Council a member and former teacher of the Happy Hearts Sunday School Class a member and former treasurer of the Leisure Group and a member of Lutheran Men. He was a former member of the Prosperity Town Council and a former member of the Prosperity Civitan Club. Mr. Shealy is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law; Phyllis S. and Bill Barnette of Aiken Marysue S. and Eddie Rivers of Prosperity Marella S. and Fred Reid of Anderson; a sister Marjorie Wicker of Little Mountain; and eight grandchildren; Laura B. Jackson Keri B. Bukovitz Chris Barnette Suzanne R. Medlock Katie Reid Claire Reid Hunter Reid and Todd Reid; and one great grandson Bryce Medlock. He was predeceased by a brother Robert D. Shealy and a sister Evelyn Wicker.Funeral services were conducted Saturday at 2:00 P. M. at Grace Lutheran Church by the Rev. Eric Fink. Interment was in Newberry Memorial Gardens.Visitation was from 7:00 P.M. to 8:30 P.M.
