Lewis D. Martin 91 formerly of 2964 Trinity Church Road Newberry died Wednesday September 15 2004 at White Oak Manor.Mr. Martin was born on September 3 1913 in Newberry County a son of the late Noah J. and Sally Clyde Hendrix Martin. He was an U. S. Army Air Force veteran of World War II and a retired farmer and lumberman. He was a faithful member of Trinity United Methodist Church and served in all capacities. Mr. Martin is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years Frances Pitts Martin of the home; a daughter Barbara M. Rogers of Newberry; a son and daughter-in-law Wayne D. and Lilly Martin of Ninety-Six two sisters Alice Aiken of Macon GA and Bernice Wright of Red Bank; three grandchildren Kelly Morris Charles Rogers and Dave Martin; and a great-grandson Dillon Morris. Funeral services for Lewis D. Martin will be conducted Friday at 11:00 A. M. at Trinity United Methodist Church by the Rev. Hugh Bickley and the Rev. Harry Wright. Interment will be in the church cemetery.Visitation will be from 6:30 P.M. to 7:30 P.M. Thursday at the Whitaker Funeral Home. The family will be at the residence 2964 Trinity Church Road Newberry.Memorials may be made to the Trinity United Methodist Church Building Fund 1160 Trinity Church Road Newberry SC 29108.
