Lillian Gravina Sommerville 86 of Newberry died Friday April 27 2012 at Newberry County Memorial Hospital. Graveside funeral services were conducted at 11:00 am Tuesday in Rosemont Cemetery by Rev. Karen Radcliffe and Father Noel Tria. The family was at the home of Bill and Eleanor Sommerville 1937 McHardy St Newberry and did invite friends to visit with them there. Mrs. Sommerville was born on January 7 1926 in Boston Massachusetts a daughter of the late Louisa Trifero and Samuel James Gravina. She was of the Catholic faith and was a family oriented lady. Her family was the joy in her life. Mrs. Sommerville is survived by her son and his wife William R. and Eleanor B. Sommerville of Newberry; her sister Marie G. Lomasney of Braintree MA; grandchildren; Dr. George L. (Jennifer) Coppit Jr. of Frederick MD Catherine C. (Anthony) Minter of Chester VA Kelly (Jamie) Schoot of Colonial Heights VA William James Coppit of Frederick MD William B. Brett Sommerville of Atlanta GA Margaret S. (Burke) Porterfield of Beaufort SC and 9 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband William J. Sommerville Jr.; daughter Mary S. Coppit and brother James Gravina.
