Lillian Hendrix Bouknight 85 formerly of 1636 Green Tree Road Newberry widow of W. Carman Bouknight died Saturday November 5 2005 at White Oak Manor.Mrs. Bouknight was born on December 1 1919 in Newberry County a daughter of the late Marcus Boyd and Eula Davenport Hendrix. Along with her husband they owned and operated Royal Cleaners. She was a Life Member of Trinity United Methodist Church and Women's Circle # 1. She sang in the church choir and taught Sunday School for a number of years.Mrs. Bouknight is survived by a daughter Sylvia B. Holmes of Newberry; a son and daughter-in-law Melvin D. and Lillian M. Bouknight of Newberry; three sisters Martha Bowers of Silverstreet Betty Willingham of Newberry and Fronie Chaney of Greenwood; two brothers Harold Hendrix and Boyd Hendrix both of Newberry; five grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren. She was predeceased by three sisters Mae Wiehrs Corinne Merritt and Leora Walker and a brother Clarence Dennis.Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday at Trinity United Methodist Church by Rev Hugh Bickley and Rev. Allen Senn. Interment was in the church cemetery.Visitation will be from 5:30 to 7:30 P.M. Monday at the Whitaker Funeral Home.
