Lilyan Jones of Newberry died Wednesday November 19 2008 at Newberry County Memorial Hospital. She was born in Newberry the daughter of the late G. J. and Annie J. Jones and was a graduate of the S. C. Baptist Hospital and College for Nurses. She was a retired registered nurse and a member of the First Baptist Church. She is survived by several nieces and nephews and was predeceased by her sister Sadye J. Schumpert. Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 P.M. Saturday at the Whitaker Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Dr. Kenneth Harmon. Interment was in Rosemont Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:30 to 2:00 PM prior to the service.Active pallbearers were Dr. E. G. Long Dr. E. E. Epting Gary Pope W.E.
