Linda Rae Amick 69 of Chapin died Wednesday November 19 2014 at her residence. Miss Amick was born on March 2 1945 in Newberry and was a daughter of the late Marto and Bessie Derrick Amick. She was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Saturday November 22 2014 at Bethel Lutheran Church White Rock by the Rev. Roy Butler. Interment will be at Macedonia Lutheran Church Prosperity. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:30 PM Friday at the Whitaker Funeral Home Chapin. Linda was born with special needs and was indeed a special person. For the past 20 years she struggled with cancer and faced many life challenges but she still had a smiling face for everyone. She had a wonderful collection of dolls and stuffed animals loved music and playing with cards. It was a great joy to have our precious angel who taught us the simple things in life. Miss Amick is survived by a sister Margie Amick; sister-in-law Lois Amick; nephews Byron and Chad Amick; and a niece Michelle Hathorne. She was predeceased by a brother Broadus Amick. Pallbearers will be Byron Amick Chad Amick Carl Derrick Jerry Derrick Harold Roof Jr. and Terry Roof. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Bethel Lutheran Congregational Council. Because of her love of flowers they will be greatly appreciated.
