Loree Diane Wrenn, 68, of Chapin died Sunday, April 24, 2022 at her residence.
Born on February 13, 1954 in Columbia, SC, she was a daughter of the late Loree Young Wrenn and Brice Stewart Wrenn. She was a member of Chapin United Methodist Church.
Diane spent her career working as a Registered nurse and providing care to patients and their families. She worked for several years at Newberry County Hospital and then at Lexington Medical Center, where she retired as the Nursing Coordinate for the Stroke Unit. Diane also worked as a hospice nurse. Not one to sit still, she began working for Three Rivers Behavioral Health. For Diane, work truly was a calling and a passion.
When she was not working, Diane was either reading or cooking. She was a voracious reader, especially of murder mysteries, and would easily read multiple books a week. She also loved to cook and was always in the kitchen making something for someone. Diane was known in her family as the Grill Master as her steaks were truly legendary.
Diane was larger than life and often the life of the party. She lived life fully, loving her sports cars and an opportunity for an adventure. She was straight forward and would not hesitate to let you know what she was thinking. Above all, she loved her family.
She is survived by her siblings, Nancy Rumbaugh (Don) of Chapin, SC, and James "Jimmy" Wrenn (Barbara) of Hot Springs, NC; nieces, Ashley Hammett (Chris), and Nikki McMahon (Knox); nephews, Brice Wrenn, Jr. (Angie), and Joel Wrenn (Crystal); and numerous loving great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted by Rev. Jody Flowers, Rev. Paul Allen, and Rev. Randy Woods at 2pm on Thursday, April 28, 2022 at Chapin United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, beginning at 1PM, at Chapin United Methodist Church. Livestream options are available.
The family expresses gratitude to Heart of Hospice, and especially to her loving caregiver Shirlene Johnson and Melissa Thompson.
Memorials are suggested to Chapin United Methodist Church or charity of one's choice.
Memories and messages may be shared with the family here on her tribute page.
