Lorelei Elizabeth "Ace"
Friedel
Apr 18, 2008 — Aug 31, 2026
Lorelei “Ace” Elizabeth Friedel passed away on Monday, August 31, 2026, at the age of 18, after a valiant fight following a complicated surgery. After being surrounded by family and friends over the weekend she passed away peacefully with her mother and father at her bedside holding her hands. Born in Columbia, South Carolina on April 18th, 2008, with a congenital heart defect Lorelei spent her childhood happy go lucky despite multiple surgeries.
Over the years, she showered everyone and everything she met with love. Lorelei was not one to shy away from giving or receiving a hug, making you laugh, and leaving everyone with a smile. Lorelei always had a unique sense of fashion whether it was matching a headband with a tutu and her dads overly large sneakers or Hulk costume for a movie, it was always bright and colorful. She brightened up every room so please join us in wearing bright colors or her favorite character Bluey when we celebrate her life.
Lorelei had an artistic side as well and had planned on starting USC majoring in Studio Art this fall. She also loved to read and write fan fiction.
Lorelei leaves behind her parents, John and Jessica (Ross) Friedel; grandparents, Thomas and Jeanne (Wilson) Friedel; uncle, Tommy Friedel; grandmother, Janice Pat Ross; aunt, Jeannette (Ross) Dechick; aunt, Jan (Ross) and uncle, Mark Baraczek; Margaret Ross; and cousins, Jack Dechick, Delaney Dechick, and Alexis Dechick. She also leaves behind her special extended cousins, aunts, and uncles: Bo, Ellie, and Jon Rice; Joan and Lelani Ross; Kayla, Jordynn, Avery, Brooklynne, Ava, Kim, and Jamie Howard; and Rylee, Avery, Shannon (Howard), Al Snyder and Janna (god mother), Brian Hollis and Kim, Kevin (god father) Friedel.
Family and friends are invited to gather on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at Whitaker Funeral Home, Chapin from 4-6pm for a celebration of Lorelei’s Life.
Donations in Lorelei’s memory may be made to the Emerson Rose Heart Foundation or to a local animal shelter of your choice. These donations would be a meaningful way to honor Lorelei’s compassionate heart, her love for others, and her love for animals.
Whitaker Funeral Home is honored to serve the Friedel family.
