Lori Anne Kolmodin, 58, of Newberry, SC died on Thursday, April 23, 2020, at Newberry County Memorial Hospital. Ms. Kolmodin was born in Elmhurst, IL and was the daughter of Nancy Meyer-Kolmodin of Newberry and the late William Edwin Kolmodin. Lori was a graduate of the University of California at Berkeley and worked for Hoffmann LaRoche as a Senior Scientist. Located at the laboratories in Pleasanton, CA, Lori played a significant role in the development of the DNA Program from its beginning. Her work is the backbone of all our DNA results today. She has contributed extensively to published book chapters. Lori also found time for enjoyment. She traveled widely throughout Europe, had a fond interest in architecture, designed and made jewelry, painted, worked in clay for pottery, collected antiques and devoted her spare time to the arts and cooking exotic dishes.
