Lottie Smith Baker 98 of Whitmire died Thursday December 1 2011 at Kershaw Health Medical Hospice. Born on August 23 1913 in Chester SC she was the daughter of John Wesley and Mary Dodds Smith. Mrs. Baker was a loyal member of Heritage Wesleyan Church in Whitmire where she attended from the age of 14 to her death at 98 years of age. Lottie taught children Sunday School for 65 years. Mrs. Baker is survived by her daughter Mitzie (Leland) Smith of Lugoff; granddaughter Cindy Hamilton of Aynor; grandson Gerald Smith of Whitmire; great-grandchildren Seth and Reece Hamilton both of Aynor; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband C. Howard Baker; and many brothers and sisters. Funeral services were held on Wednesday December 7 2011 at 3:00 P.M. at First Wesleyan Church by the Rev. Mark Stevenson Rev. Tim Shirley and Rev. Tony Barnes. Interment was in Whitmire Cemetery. The family did receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday at the Heritage Wesleyan Church Whitmire.
