IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Louise P.
Grooms
March 21, 1943 – December 9, 2022
Louise P. Grooms, 79, of Newberry died Friday, December 9, 2022, at Newberry County Memorial Hospital.
Born on March 21, 1943, in Edgefield County, she was a daughter of the late Haskell B. Hatcher and Ella Busby Hatcher Rowe.
Louise was a talented seamstress, often making or repairing clothes for family and friends. She loved music, but without a doubt, her favorite singer was Elvis.
She enjoyed her role as an Avon representative, making lasting relationships with her clients, and treasured family holidays and gatherings, especially when they added to her Christmas bow collection. She loved animals, especially her beloved dog, "Porkchop." Above all, she cherished her role as Mom and Nanny - her family, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, were her everything.
Louise is survived by her daughters, Elizabeth "Beth" Cromer of Newberry, Wanda Morris (George Buckner) of Chapin, and Ann Bighman Hoff (Terry) of Summerville; son, Junior Parkman (Renee) of Newberry; siblings, Ray Hatcher, Shirley Ann Moore, and Frances Patterson; grandchildren, Andrew Navarrete (Amanda Fox), E.J. Hyler, Collin Morris (Christabelle Sedita), Victoria Morris, Summer Parkman, and Madalyn Parkman; and great-grandchildren, Summer Hutchinson, Ezra Navarrete, Kaylee Hyler, Ernest Hyler, Gia Kay Gonzalez; and Remington Scott Morris.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a great-grandson, Oliver Lee Navarette; and siblings, Virginia Cox, Raymond Hatcher, and Shelby Jean Ready.
Graveside funeral services will be conducted by Pastor Charlie Clinton on Monday, December 12, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Newberry Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Andrew Navarrete, Collin Morris, Joe Moore and George Buckner.
Memorials are suggested to the Newberry County Animal Shelter, 240 Public Works Dr, Newberry, SC 29108.
Memories and messages may be shared with the family on her tribute page at www.whitakerfuneralhome.com.
Whitaker Funeral Home is honored to serve the Grooms family.
