Lyla Chapman Dailey, 91, of Irmo died Saturday, June 9, 2018 at her residence.
Born on August 7, 1926 in Irmo, she was a daughter of the late Olin and Sue Derrick Chapman.
Mrs. Dailey was a former employee of General Electric in Irmo and was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Irmo.
She enjoyed her vegetable gardens and growing flowers. As long as her husband was able, they enjoyed traveling together to his WW II Army Air Corps reunions every year.
Mrs. Dailey is survived by her sons, Colin Merritt Dailey (Jeannie), Walton Hoyt Dailey (Charlotte) and Orvis Wayne Dailey all of Irmo; grandchildren, Shannon Dailey, Jamie Dailey (Nell), Criston Dailey and Walt Dailey; a great grandchild, Shayna Slicer (Will); sister, Ola McKendree (Clifford) of Scottsdale, AZ; and brother, Orvis Chapman (Norma) of Irmo.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Henry Owen Dailey who died on January 23 2018; a son, James Duane Dailey; and her sister, Myra Gable.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Monday, June 11, 2018 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Irmo with Vicar John Derrick officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends following the services.
