Mable E. Havird 98 formerly of 18 Abrams St. Silverstreet died Tuesday May 31 2005 at White Oak Manor.Miss Havird was born on February 1 1907 in Silverstreet a daughter of the late B. Mayer and Maggie Long Havird. She was a graduate of Newberry College and a member of Silverstreet Lutheran Church W.E.L.C.A. and the F.C.L. Club. She taught school in Little Mountain Pelzer and retired from Greenville Junior High School.Miss Havird is survived by two sisters Edna Havird Fly of Spartanburg and Mildred H. Vincent of Fort Belvoir VA; a sister-in-law Marquerite Havird of Silverstreet; eight nephews Edward L. Fly of Warner Robbins GA Jerome F. Havird of Silverstreet Dale L. Vincent of Port Washington NY John M. Fly of Spartanburg Bruce H. Vincent of Houston TX Dr. Michael P. Vincent of Potomac MD Thomas H. Fly of Spartanburg and David L. Havird of Shreveport LA; a number of great nieces and nephews; and a number of great great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by seven brothers Henry M. Havird John Vernon Havird Jerome F. Havird Berley M. Havird Campbell Havird Hugh L. Havird and Paul B. Havird.Funeral services were conducted at 11:00 A.M. Friday at Silverstreet Lutheran Church by the Rev. Steve Jackson and the Rev. Dr. Robert McCollum.
