Madeleine Roger

Madeleine R. Roger, 80, formerly of Dayton, Maine, passed away on Wednesday, April 15, 2026.

Born in the coastal town of Biddeford, Maine, on November 20, 1945, Madeleine was the daughter of the late Emile and Lillian (Dube) Verville. She dedicated her career to helping others, working as a compassionate caregiver for individuals with developmental challenges until her retirement.

A woman of Catholic faith and a quintessential Maine native, Madeleine was fiercely independent. She lived on her own for many years before recent health challenges led her to relocate to South Carolina to reside with her daughter, Missi. Madeleine had a passion for gardening, painting yard ornaments, and savoring a good piece of cheesecake, and she could often be found “on patrol,” lovingly protecting her precious yard and garden.

More than anything, Madeleine was incredibly proud of her children: Peter R. Valcourt, Melissa A. Labbe, Robin L. Cote, and Maurice G. Valcourt. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Peter Valcourt, Ryan Valcourt, Logan Night, Chelsea Valcourt, Aiden Labbe, Henry M. Valcourt, and Olivia M. Valcourt; as well as her sister, Claudette Paneccasio.

She was predeceased by her parents, as well as her husbands, Maurice Valcourt and Michael Roger.

Madeleine will be laid to rest on Friday, June 5, 2025, at 1:00 PM, at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Biddeford, Maine.
