Obituary

Margaret Anne Lipscomb,79, a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, died on Monday, May 5, 2025. She was born on October 2, 1945, in Newberry, South Carolina, to the late Lewis Moore and Margaret Anne Shealy Lipscomb.

Anne worked at Richland School District One for many years before retirement. Anne found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She was an ardent fan of Elvis Presley, often filling her home with his timeless melodies. Anne was a member of the United Federation of Doll Clubs and enjoyed collecting dolls. She volunteered her time packing bags for Harvest Hope Food Bank. Anne had a green thumb, finding peace and satisfaction in gardening. She cherished her time visiting the beach - a place where she felt truly at ease. Anne's love for shopping and reading offered her opportunities for relaxation, but she most enjoyed being around people and making memories.

Above all, Anne was devoted to her family and friends. Her children and grandchildren were the light of her life, and she delighted in spending time with them and being surrounded by those she loved. Her warmth, kindness, and generosity touched the lives of all those who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be missed deeply but remembered warmly by all who were touched by her love and laughter.

Anne is survived by her daughter, Courtney (Jay) Renfrow; her son, Christopher Trey Bogue; and her adored grandchildren, James Preston Renfrow and Emma Grace Renfrow. She is also survived by her brothers, Durrett (Marcia) Lipscomb, and Bobby (Debbie) Lipscomb; her nieces Keri Lipscomb (Sean) Dalrymple, Allston Lipscomb, and Margaret Lipscomb (John) Wells; and her great nieces Quinn Dalrymple and Anna Wells.

A gathering to honor Anne's life will be held Sunday, May 25, 2025, from 2:00 PM until 3:30 PM at Whitaker Funeral Home, Newberry.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Harvest Hope Food Bank, located at 2220 Shop Road, Columbia, South Carolina 29201- to continue Anne's legacy of generosity and compassion.
