Margaret Rossi McLemore, 96, of Columbia, formerly of (Lake Murray) Prosperity, died Sunday, October 8, 2017 with her loving daughter and granddaughter by her side. Her eyes widened, crystal clear as she stared out the window to the heavens above and with a soft breath, entered eternal peace.
Born on March 29, 1921 to Italian immigrants, Attillio and Concetta Paolino Rossi in Lawrence, MA, Margaret was the last surviving child of their six children.
Mrs. McLemore attended Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in her earlier years.
She enjoyed living on Lake Murray and would often sit until early morning fishing. Margaret had a wonderful sense of humor and was known to many for her thoughtfulness and gathering everyone close to her.
She is survived by her daughter, Debbie Galvin of Columbia; son, Ray McLemore of Leesville; grandchildren, Thomas McLemore, Christopher McLemore, and Marie Counts; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and siblings, she was predeceased by her husband, Thomas "Mac" Ray "Buddy" McLemore, Sr.
Graveside funeral services will be conducted at Newberry Memorial Gardens on Friday, October 13, 2017at 2:00PM by Deacon John Stetar.
