Margaret Merchant Folk 76 of 2221 Glenn Street Newberry wife of J. Edward Folk died Friday October 21 2005 at the J. F. Hawkins Nursing Home. Mrs. Folk was born on August 23 1929 in Newberry a daughter of the late M. Brabham and Loulee Cole Merchant. She was a retired employee of BellSouth. She was a member of Beth-Eden Lutheran Church W.E.L.C.A Telephone Pioneers of America and was a former member of Town and Country Garden Club.Mrs. Folk is survived by her husband of 58 years of the home; a sister Elberta Hester of Newberry; three nieces Ruby (James) Phibbs of Newberry Patricia Folk (Dale) Greene of Hampton VA and Loraine (Leland) Minick Martin of Greenwood; three nephews Billy Ray (Margaret) Hester of Newberry; Brabham (Ann) Hester of Prosperity and Chevis Franklin (Kathy); a special great nephew Jimmie (Cassandra) Phibbs of Prosperity; a special great great niece Brooke Phibbs of Prosperity; and a # of great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister Narvis Franklin McDaniel.Graveside funeral services were at 2:00 P.M. Monday in Newberry Memorial Gardens by the Rev. Rodney Gunter.The family was at the home of Mr. and Mrs. James Phibbs 2210 Glenn Street Newberry.
