Obituary

Margaret R. Parker, 86, of Prosperity, SC, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 16, 2025, at her home, surrounded by her beloved family. Born on November 25, 1938, in Jackson, SC, Margaret was the cherished daughter of Millard and Louise (Stallings) Rickenbaker.

A devoted member of Bethel Baptist Church in Prosperity, Margaret's faith was a cornerstone of her life. She attended Sunday School and worship services faithfully and found great fulfillment in her involvement with the church's Blue Frog group.

Margaret's life was defined by her kindness and compassion. She found her greatest joy in serving others, always caring for those around her with boundless love and dedication. In her free time, she delighted in playing BINGO and solving word search puzzles, simple pleasures that brought her happiness.

Margaret was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Grady P. Parker. In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by a brother, Joe Rickenbaker, a sister, Betty Morgan, and brother, John Rickenbaker.

She is survived by her son, David P. Parker, and his wife, Tammie, of New Ellenton, SC; two grandchildren, Codey Parker and Chelsea Parker; and four precious great-grandchildren, Chloe Parker, Urijah Parker, James David Williamson, and Liliana Margaret Williamson. She is also survived by her loving sister, Edith Brooks, and her husband, Donnie, of Jackson, SC; and her sister-in-law Becky Sanchez of Florida.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to Jerry and Susan Blue, whose unwavering kindness, love, and support have been a true blessing. Words cannot fully convey how much their friendship has meant during this time and throughout the years.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Bethel Baptist Church in Prosperity on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at 11:30 a.m.

A visitation will be held at the church before the service from 10:45 to 11:30 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bethel Baptist Church or to the family for unforeseen funeral costs.
