Margery Paysinger
Williamson

Margery Paysinger Williamson, 97, known to most of her friends as "Sis," widow of the late Nathan Kibler Williamson, died Saturday afternoon, May 4, 2024, at the Agape Hospice House of Lexington.
She was born on March 7, 1927, in Newberry, South Carolina. She was the daughter of the late Strother Culbreath and Marion Daniel Paysinger.
She graduated from Newberry High School, received her B. A. degree from Randolph-Macon Women's College, Lynchburg, VA, and did graduate work at the University of South Carolina and Clemson. She taught English at Newberry High School for 30 years.
Mrs. Williamson was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer for 70 plus years where she served as the first woman Chairperson of the Church Council. She also taught the Couples Sunday School class. She was active in her community in numerous civic, educational, religious and social groups and was selected to Who's Who in America. She was a scuba diver and an avid traveler, having visited all 50 U.S. states, 60 countries, including most of the Mexican states and most of the Canadian Provinces. She enjoyed playing bridge and reading novels.
She is survived by her daughters, Ellen Kanervo (David) and Frances Williams; grandchildren, David Williams (Cassidy) and Sarah Kanervo Jackman (Matthew); three great-grandchildren, Chase, Tyler and Logan Williams. She is also survived by a younger brother, Dr. B. Daniel Paysinger.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her older brother, Strother D. (Bozo) Paysinger, and her son-in-law, Frank Williams.
Memorial services will be conducted by the Rev. Matthew Titus, 3 PM, Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at The Lutheran Church of the Redeemer.
A private family committal will take place at a later date.
The family will receive friends for a time of visitation following the service at The Lutheran Church of the Redeemer.
