Marian Bozard Floyd 87 of Newberry died Friday May 25 2012 at White Oak Manor. Funeral services were conducted at 11:00 AM Tuesday at Faith Lutheran Church by Rev. Ed Miller Rev. Alford Ruff and Rev. Pierce Evans. Interment was at Newberry Memorial Gardens. Visitation was from 6:00 to 7:30 PM Monday at Whitaker Funeral Home Newberry. She was born on May 11 1925 in Newberry County a daughter of the late Annie Shealy and William D. Bozard. Mrs. Floyd became a member of Faith Lutheran Church in 1961 and taught Sunday School for 27 years. In addition to her church she loved the outdoors especially working in her yard being on the water fishing and teaching others to water ski. She enjoyed cooking baking traveling with her family and was a loyal Atlanta Braves baseball fan. She is survived by her granddaughter Denise Elaine Floyd of Newberry; brothers James Earl (Dollie) Bozard of Newberry and Ralph Emerson (Betty) Bozard of Greenwood; daughter-in-law Peggy Shealy Floyd of Newberry; special cousin Connie Barnes Bozard of Orlando FL; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband G. Guy Floyd; son J. David Floyd; grandchildren James David Floyd Jr. and Sherrie Lynn Floyd; and brother William David (Anna) Bozard.
