Marie Joseph Rosier, a cherished resident of Chapin, SC, peacefully passed away at the age of 94 on Monday, November 11th, 2024. She was born in the quaint town of Baron, France on March 5th, 1930, to her parents, Stefan and Albine Lapkin.
As the owner and operator of the family restaurant, Marie was known for her exceptional skill as a pastry chef. Her pastries were sought after and enjoyed by many throughout the area. Her passion for culinary arts was evident in every dish she prepared.
Outside of her professional life, Marie was a talented seamstress. Her proudest moments were spent with her family, especially during the treasured gatherings for Sunday afternoon meals. Marie also found joy in traveling and exploring new places. An avid supporter of her son's soccer career, she was often heard cheering him on with enthusiasm and pride.
Marie was a beloved matriarch, whose family was her pride and joy. She is survived by her son John and daughter-in-law Carla Rosier, of Chapin, SC. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Joseph, Katia, Natalie, Christina, Dallas, Brigitte, MaryAgnes, and their families. Marie's brother, Gerard Lapkin, and sister, Monique Ardouin, also survive her.
Marie was preceded in death by her parents, Stefan and Albine Lapkin, ten siblings, and her beloved spouse, Pierre whose memory she held dear throughout her life.
Rosary and Visitation will be held at Whitaker Funeral Home in Chapin, South Carolina, on Monday, November 18th, 2024, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. A funeral Mass will be said to pray for the repose of Marie's soul at Our Lady of The Lake Catholic Church in Chapin, SC, on Tuesday, November 19th, 2024, at 1:30 pm.
