Mark Anthony Taylor, 69, of Newberry, died Monday, November 11, 2024, at Self Regional Healthcare in Greenwood, South Carolina.

Born in Newberry, South Carolina on September 2, 1955, he was a son to the late Carl O'Rell and Clarice Wilhite Taylor.

Mark was loved and admired by everyone who knew him. He had a great personality, although he could be stubborn at times, and would do all he could to make people laugh and smile. He had a true gift for caring and being in his presence made people feel warm and loved

He was always appreciative and grateful for his family and others who cared for him, especially his two daughters, Britt and Haleigh. Mark also held a special place in his heart for his cat Kit-Bit and grand dog Finn. Mark was as an avid Gamecock fan, and his legacy of rooting for his team will continue with his daughters.

Mark was a former member of the Newberry Moose Lodge #2211.

He is survived by his daughters, Britt Taylor (Shane Sligh) and Haleigh Taylor; sisters, Debbie Hunter (Billy), Robin Cofer (Rick), and Denise Taylor; brother, Carl Taylor, Jr.; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his grandson, Landen Drake Taylor and brother, Randy Taylor.

Visitation will be held from 1:00PM until 2:00PM, Friday afternoon, November 15, 2024, at Whitaker Funeral Home, 1704 College Street, Newberry, SC 29108.

Graveside services will be held 3:00 PM, Friday, November 15, 2024 at Rosemont Cemetery, Springdale Section.

Memorial contributions may be sent in memory of Mark's life to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
