Martha Ann Lindler, 83, of Little Mountain, died Tuesday, July 26, 2022 at Columbia Hospice House.
Martha was born on June 28, 1939, in Little Mountain, SC, the youngest of six children - John, Mary, Haskell, Rebecca, Earl, and Martha - to Daniel Evans and Carrie Eargle Lindler. She was the last survivor of her immediate family.
Martha is survived by her nephews, Kenneth Lindler (Libby) of Little Mountain, Aubrey Lindler (Lisa) of Chapin, and John Paul Lindler (Karen) of Lewisville, NC; niece, Ruth Ann Lindler; grandnephews, Cody, Matthew, Jesse, and Michael Lindler; grand-nieces, Kristina Williams and Sarah Baucom; and sister-in-law, Margie Lindler. She was pre-deceased by a nephew David Lindler.
Martha attended Little Mountain School, Newberry College, and the University of Alabama, receiving her Master's Degree in elementary education. After graduation, she spent many years teaching in Florida, South Carolina, and Georgia. She loved her role as a teacher and excelled in her career as an educator.
She was a member of Resurrection Lutheran Church in Augusta, GA for many years and returned to her home church, St. Peter Lutheran Church in Chapin, SC after retirement.
Martha enjoyed quilting and gardening and was especially fond of growing tomatoes and camellias. She was a certified Master Gardener and a member of the American Camellia Society. Her knowledge of camellias was truly amazing. In addition to her hobbies, Martha loved her family and was always trying to help others as she could.
Funeral services will be conducted by the Rev. David Tholstrup on Sunday, July 31, 2022 at 2:00 PM at St. Peter Lutheran Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends following the interment.
