Martha Shealy Riddle, 94, of Little Mountain died Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at her home. Born on March 5, 1928 in Chapin she was a daughter of the late Oscar Roland and Mary Sites Shealy. Martha was a long-time member of St. Peter Lutheran Church, where she served as Sunday School teacher, Bible School teacher, and on the Bereavement committee. She was a farmer's wife and embraced all the work that came with that role on the dairy farm. She was a cheerful caretaker, always willing to help others in her family and community. She was a patient person, learning to drive at age 38. Martha dearly loved her siblings and treasured Sunday gatherings at her parent's home. She loved cooking, especially baking, and never failed to have a warm pound cake, lemon pies, or coconut custard ready for family. She was a "fantastic Mom", she always had time for children, Patricia and Donald. She is survived by her daughter, Patricia R. Galloway (Hal) of NC; granddaughter, Lindsay G. Hutchinson (Jason) of CA; great-granddaughter, Tazlynn Alice Hutchinson; brother, Richard Shealy (Carolyn); and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, James A. Riddle; her son, J. Donald Riddle; siblings, Earline Wessinger, Carol "Buddy" Shealy, Dewey Shealy, Roland Shealy, Doris Monts, and Eva Pearl Shealy. Funeral services will be conducted by the Rev. David Tholstrup at 3:00 PM, Saturday, May 28, 2022 at St. Peter Lutheran Church. Burial will follow at Newberry Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall at the church one hour prior to the service beginning at 2:00 PM. The family extends their sincere appreciation to Martha's caregivers, Angel Care of Newberry, for their love and attention in caring for her.
