Marvin D. Faw, 74 of Hephzibah, Ga died Saturday, September 24, 2016 at the University Hospital in Augusta, Ga. He was formerly of Prosperity. He was born on Dec. 25, 1941 in Wilkes County, NC, the son of Hattie Miller Wilson and the late Vernon Faw. Marvin was a graduate of Mid-Carolina High School. He retired from Georgia-Pacific and was a Mason. He enjoyed watching NASCAR. He had a passion for any kind of fishing, put him in a boat and he was happy. Beside his mother of Prosperity, he is survived by his children, Shane Faw (Pamela) of Edgefield, Christy Byrd (Michael) of Jackson, and Dean Faw (Shana) of North Augusta; grandchildren, Kayla Byrd, Christian Faw, and Sonnie Faw; a great grandchild, Kaiden Wilson; niece, Wendy Waites (Stacy) of Pomaria; nephew, Robert "Bobby" Whiting (Gretchen) of Prosperity; and great nieces and nephews, Chase, Zack, Kristen, and Heather. He was predeceased by his sister, Marlene Faw Gray. Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 11:30 AM Thursday, September 29, 2016 in Newberry Memorial Gardens Memorials are suggested to Shriner's Hospital for Children, 950 W.
