Obituary

Mary Carmelia Crumpton "Fat" Brewer, 87, of Newberry died Tuesday, October 6, 2020 at White Oak Manor. Born on February 18, 1933 in Newberry, she was a daughter of the late Henry Luther and Lorene Wicker Crumpton. Carmelia was a retired employee of Greenwood Mills. She was a faithful member of Faith Assembly of God in Newberry and was active in the "Women's Ministries" as long as her health allowed. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Frank Brewer and Pam, Marvin Brewer and Wanda, and Ned Brewer and Trudy all of Prosperity; grandchildren, Amanda Smith, Jason, Luke and Rellie Brewer, Shannon Livingston, Samantha Curtis, and Meg Wylds; and great grandchildren, Matthew, Emma, and Preston Smith, Noah, Cooper, and Mable Brewer, Aubrey and Caleb Curtis, Aiden and Camden Livingston, and Andrew and Mary Margaret Wylds. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were the love of her life. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Ned E. Brewer; siblings, Doshia Gentry, Doris Smith, Mavis Tarver, Bessie Tarver, Frances Humphries, Ernest Crumpton and Thomas Crumpton. Funeral services will be at 2:30 pm on Saturday, October 10, 2020 at Whitaker Funeral Home in Newberry conducted by Rev. Warren Parker and Rev. Charlie Clinton. Interment will follow in Rosemont Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Faith Assembly of God, 798 Fair Street Newberry, S.
