Mary Elizabeth Betty Predmore Welling 75 of Newberry died Wednesday September 22 2010 at J.F. Hawkins Nursing Home in Newberry of cancer. Betty was born in August GA. on the 24 December 1934 the daughter of the late Zonnie B. and Nancy Lugenia Genie Horne Odom. She was a fun loving and beautiful woman. Betty and her sister Anne O. Cole attended Thornwell Orphanage in Clinton S.C. where Anne graduated and Betty continued her schooling at Eau Claire High School in Columbia S.C. She was twice married first to the late Richard Predmore and then to the late Augustus A. Welling Jr. Betty worked at Martin-Marietta in Baltimore Maryland where she met her second husband who was an executive in the company. She had a Masters Degree in Social Work and taught for a while. She is survived by her son David Predmore; a daughter Linda Predmore; her sister Anne O. Cole; a brother Dr. Elliott James Odom; and her loving family. She was predeceased by her husbands and a brother Dr. Bobby Odom as well as her parents. Funeral services were held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints 2112 Glenn St. Newberry at 11:00 AM Saturday.
