Mary Jo Griffith Gibson, 81, of Mt. Pleasant, died Saturday, April 14, 2018. Born on April 7, 1937 in Saluda County, she was the daughter of the late Joe and Mary Ellen Kempson Griffith. Mrs. Gibson graduated from the University of South Carolina where she was president of ADPi sorority. She earned her Master's Degree from American University in Washington, DC. She worked for the Federal Government developing Medicare and Hospice programs. Mrs. Gibson grew up attending Pine Pleasant Baptist Church in Saluda. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Joe and Kathryn Gibson of Mt. Pleasant and her grandchildren, Truett and Ellie Gibson. Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, May 12, 2018 in the Pine Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery conducted by Rev. Burton Campbell.
