Mary Turner Jones, 72, of Newberry and formally of Greenwood, South Carolina died Sunday, November 12, 2023, at J.F. Hawkins Nursing Home in Newberry.

Mrs. Jones was born on December 3, 1950, in Greenwood County, a daughter to the late Olin Turner and the late Virginia Gunnin Turner. She was married to the late Mr. Randy Wayne Rinehart. She later married Albert Pike Jones, a decorated military veteran.

Mary, a native of Greenwood and graduate from Greenwood High School; class of 1968, was for most of her life a devoted and nurturing caretaker to many. She was known to be a generous and caring mother, grandmother and friend. She enjoyed helping raise her grandchildren and was the best grandmother anyone could ask for. Mary and her husband, Randy were known significantly in the Newberry area when they owned and operated their retail packaging store. Mary held a special place in her heart for her dogs, often taking them out for car rides and those special trips through the drive-thru for those special treats.

Mrs. Jones is survived by her daughter, Candice R. Johnson (Al); her son, Brian Todd Rinehart (Chris), and her grandson, Trey Johnson.

The family will receive friends for a time of visitation on Friday, November 24, 2023, from 2 PM until 4 PM at Whitaker Funeral Home, Newberry.
