Mary "Jan" Janice Joseph, age 74, died October 30, 2021 at Lexington Medical Center, surrounded by her family.
She was born August 31, 1947 in Barberton, OH; a daughter of the late Ellsworth and Mary Kee.
Jan received her bachelors' and master's degrees in education from the University of Akron. She taught elementary school in the Akron, Ohio school system for 30 years.
She was the beloved friend of Rick Donovan and loving sister of Roger (Barbara) Kee, Ronald (Diane) Kee, Thaddeus (Michelle) Kee, James (Laura) Kee, and John (Sydney) Kee (deceased); dearest aunt of 11, and great-aunt to many.
Jan will be remembered for her unconditional love to Rick and her family. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, and crafting all while spending time at her beautiful home on Lake Murray. She especially enjoyed her many trips with her fellow members and friends of the Chapter S Motorcycle Club. She was also very active in many community and volunteer organizations such as Boy Scouts and Newberry Opera House. She loved all sports, but most of all, golf and baseball.
Memorial Services honoring Jan's life will be conducted by Shannon Moses on Tuesday, November 2, 11:00 AM, at Whitaker Funeral Home in Newberry.
Memories and messages of comfort may be left for Jan's family here on her tribute wall.
Whitaker Funeral Home is honored to assist the family.
