Mary Kathryn Courtney Dennis, of Newberry, SC, born February 6, 1938, to Mary (Miller) and Allan Courtney, died Wednesday, January 29, 2025.

She was predeceased by her husband, Dawkins Wilfred Dennis.

She is survived by her daughter, Ashli Courtney Dennis of Newberry. She is also survived by her brother, Frank A. Courtney, her brother-in-law, Wilton Dennis, along with nieces and nephews, Crystal Courtney Heath, Mark Courtney,  Anthony Dennis, Kyle and Kirk Dennis, and great-niece Danielle Arrington.

Mary Kathryn spent much of her life working at Southern Bell, Newberry Lumber Company, and the school system of Newberry County. Her life's passion, however, was realized when she became a mother. Her mothering knew no bounds as the many who were welcomed to her table will tell you.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Jesse Frank Hawkins nursing home for their care over the past few months.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at 11:00 a.m.at Whitaker Funeral Home - Newberry with a visitation a half hour prior from 10:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in Newberry Memorial Gardens.
