Mary Owens Lipscomb, 96, of Newberry died Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at White Oak Manor.

Born in Newberry County on June 20, 1926, she was the daughter of the late George Robert Owens and Inez Ruth Owens McCary.

She was a member of Central United Methodist Church and worked for many years as a folder at Damon International.

She is survived by her grandson, Robert Lipscomb (Lisa) of Simpsonville; and adopted family, Donna and Chip Caldwell, and Chase and Cade Caldwell, who affectionately called her Grandma Mary.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 65 years, Broadus T. Lipscomb; son, R. Bruce Lipscomb Jr.; an infant son; granddaughter, Tracy Lynn Lipscomb; brothers, George Robert "Snake" Owens, Jr. and Albert Dewey Owens; and step-father, J. O. McCary.

Graveside services will be conducted by Rev. Joe Long, on Thursday, March 2, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Rosemont Cemetery.

The family suggested memorials be made to Central United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 67, Newberry SC 29108.
