Mary M. Long Culp of Mooresville NC went to be with her Lord and Savior on June 2 2008. She was born in the Mount Pilgrim section of Newberry County in 1912 a daughter of the late John H. Walter Long and Florence Waters Long. She attended the Newberry County schools and is an alumnus of Newberry College. She was a devoted caring and giving person to the family and the community. Mrs. Culp was a member of the Central United Methodist Church of Mooresville NC and a former member of Mt. Pilgrim Lutheran Church Prosperity. Services were held at Central United Methodist Church and interment at Glenwood Cemetery on June 5 at 2:00 PM.Mrs. Culp is survived by her loving and devoted husband Rockwell M. Culp of the home and a son Dr. John R. Culp of Sarasota Fl.; three wonderful grandchildren Alex Amanda and Laura all of Sarasota Fl. She is also survived by two loving and devoted nephews and a niece Donald M. Long (Linda) John L. Long both of Prosperity and Olivia C. Long of Manhattan NY; one great niece Donna L. Snelgrove (Dean) and two great nephews Bryan E. Long (Kristal) of Prosperity and Christopher Long; one great great niece Stephanie N. Long and five great great nephews Jesse D. Snelgrove Justin S. Snelgrove Jeremy D. Snelgrove Casey A. Snelgrove and Jospeh A. Long of Presperity. She was predeceased by a special brother and sister-in-law George W. and Pearl M. Long. Whitaker Funeral Home is serving the Long family.
