Mary Ruth Freeman Fitts 88 of Newberry died Friday March 6 2014 at Lexington Medical Center. Funeral Services was conducted at 2:00 PM Wednesday March 12 2014 at the Whitaker Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Larry Hagerty. Born on November 24 1925 in Jacksonville FL she was a daughter of the late Harry and Myrtle Hall Redden. Mrs. Fitts was a retired employee of Belks and she loved working in her yard. She is survived by her daughter Linda Freeman (Jerry) Horn of Ridgeway; sons Jesse Jay R. Freeman III of Lexington Douglas L. (Viola) Freeman of Jackson MS and Harry V. (Gloria)Freeman of Chapin; step-son Gary (Patty) Fitts of Mogadore OH; sister Barbara Ann Redden Wade of Ft. Smith AR; 10 grandchildren 12 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren and her beloved dog Shorty. She was predeceased by her husband ArDee Fitts and a grandson.
