Maryann Fields Burns 79 of Chapin SC and formerly of Charleston SC died Monday September 7 2015. Visitation for family and friends will be held at 9:00 AM followed by a funeral service on Friday September 18 2015 at Christ Church and House of Prayer in Chapin with Pastor Don Williams and Rev. Jody Flowers conducting the service. Following the service interment will be held a 2PM in Beaufort National Cemetery Beaufort SC. Maryann was born in Parris Island SC on April 14 1936 the only child of Wilford Dudley Fields and Mary Virginia Fields. She was previously married to Charles W. Burns Jr. the father of their two children who preceded her in death. She was a member of Chapin United Methodist Church and also attended Christ Church and House of Prayer. Maryann was involved in a number of activities at Chapin UMC including working with the nursery program and the altar flower program. She was also active in the senior program at Crooked Creek Park. While living in Charleston she worked at Kerrisons on King Street and later worked at Lobsteer Inn For her family "Nanny" as she was known to all leaves fond memories of great meals and happy moments memories of an awesome mother wonderful grandmother and a proud great-grandmother. Maryann is survived by daughters Sharon Xenakis and husband George of Columbia and Linda Virginia Burns-Perrin and husband Rodger John Perrin of Chapin; grandchildren Kristin Faulhaber (Jacob) Shaun Laursen (Ashley) Laurel Ashley Burns Perrin and Jonathan Adam Burns Burkhalter; and great grandchildren Reese Faulhaber Claire Faulhaber Cole Laursen and Caleb Laursen. .
