Matthew David Silverman, 22, of Chapin, died Sunday, February 14, 2016 at Lexington Medical Center surrounded by his family. Vigil and Wake will be on Tuesday, February 16, 2016 from 5:00 until 8:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, February 17 at 11:00 am at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, 195 Amicks Ferry Road in Chapin. Born in Newark, DE on July 22, 1993, Matthew was a son of Stuart Marc and Dona Murray Silverman of Chapin. He was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. During his healthy years, Matthew enjoyed attending concerts, collecting music on his iPod, playing video games and volunteered doing tech work during theater runs at Town Theater in Columbia. He also liked playing pranks on others, spending time with cousins and other family members and vacationing with family. ​In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brother, Ryan Silverman; grandparents, Edward Silverman and Barbara Silverman; aunt and uncle, Elena (Murray) White and Dennis White and their children, Brooke Hutton and Briana White; and uncle and aunt, Gary and Diane (Coffelt) Murray and their children, Stacie Murray and Stephanie Murray. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Mildred and Donald Murray and grandmother, Ruth Silverman. ​ The family suggest memorials be made to Family and Friends of Mr. Matthew, 128 Hawks Ridge Lane, Chapin, SC 29036.
