Mattie Charlene Dickert, 61, of Newberry died Friday, February 18, 2022. Born on September 26, 1960 in Union SC, she was a daughter of the late William Lee Edward Dickert, Sr. and Barbara Jean Cooper Dickert. Charlene was a kind, forgiving, loving person and would do all she could to care for those in need. She was an encourager and supporter to family and friends and she will be deeply missed. Charlene had a strong personal faith in Jesus Christ. She loved spending time, watching the news and Weather Channel with her faithful dog, Pablo. Above all else, Charlene loved her children and grandchildren and was very proud of her sons. She is survived by her sons, Daniel A. Scott (Krista) of Poth, TX and Sean M. Scott of Prosperity; step-son, Josh Nichols of Newberry; grandchildren, Arabella and Lexi Scott; and step-grandson, Andrew Nichols; sister, Darlene Baxley (Russell) of Newberry and Tony Dickert (Lenora) of Whitmire; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Wayland Gilliam. A memorial service for Charlene will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at Freedom Baptist Church with Pastor Eddie Bledsoe presiding.
