Melinda "Linda" McCorkle Robinson went to meet the Lord on August 21, 2023. Born in Heath Springs, South Carolina, she was the fifth daughter of Mary Viola Young and Clyde Randolph McCorkle.

Linda graduated from Eau Claire High School in 1956, where she was a majorette. She attended nursing school, was a buyer for JB Whites and later in life was the owner of The Brides Shop in downtown Columbia. Linda loved all types of needlework and participated, until her passing, in a group that makes blankets, scarves and mittens for the homeless.

She was predeceased by her sisters, infant Betty McCorkle, Barbara Wilson, Jackie Rast, Joan Jones and Patsy Corbett. She is survived by her three children, Roxanne Paugels (Walt) of West Columbia; Patricia "Trish" Crouch of Chapin; and David Robinson (Cara) of Aiken. She was a grandmother to eight and great grandmother to eleven.

Funeral services will be held Monday, August 28, 2023, 12:00 PM at Whitaker Funeral Home, Chapin, with Rev. Michael Hillard officiating.   The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association or a charity of your choice.
