Michael D. Blanton 59 of North Augusta died Monday June 29 2015 at his residence. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Thursday at Whitaker Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Wako Cotney. Interment will follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be prior to the service on Thursday from 12:30 until 1:30 PM at Whitaker Funeral Home. He was born in Spartanburg on February 3 1956 a son of Luda Busby of North Augusta and the late Ben Blanton and step-son of Marvin Busby (Patricia Burke). Michael worked as a meat cutter for a number of grocery stores and was known as a hard worker. He was an avid billiard player and thoroughly enjoyed fishing and reading especially the Bible. He loved his Lord and children; Dawn Bosdell (Dion) of North Augusta Chris Blanton (Addie) of Clarks Hill Beth Nimons (Phillip) of Edgefield; and grandchildren Walker Juel Chase Lillie Katie Wyatt and Isabella.
