Michael "Mac" McNew, 68, of Prosperity, died Sunday, August 7, 2016 at his residence. Born on July 18, 1948 in Twin Falls, Idaho, he was a son of the late Ralph and Catherine McNew. Mr. McNew was a Sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corp, serving two tours in Vietnam. He was a member of the American Legion Post 174 and the ABATE of South Carolina. Mac thoroughly enjoyed riding motorcycles and was a loving husband and friend. He is survived by his wife of eighteen years, Deborah Lapp McNew; sisters, Pat Gray of TN and Sally Cook of Olive Branch, MS; brother, David McNew of Lake Fork, TX; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, September 16, 2016 at Fort Jackson National Cemetery. The family will be at the residence, 4859 Mt. Pilgrim Church Road, Prosperity.
