Michael "Mike" Milliff, 59, of Chapin, died Sunday, January 3, 2021 at his residence.
Mike's first loves were his faith, family, and friends that became family. He was a devout Catholic who enjoyed talking about his faith with anyone who had the time and interest to sit down with him. A firm believer in practicing what you preach, Mike lived out his faith in the way that he loved and cared for everyone he came into contact with. He impressed the importance of kindness and patience to his daughters, Jamie and Jesse, with whom he spent countless hours teaching to think logically about any problem and reminding them to be cognizant of the wake they leave behind them.
Never one to take himself too seriously, Mike was always quick with a joke and had the ability to make anyone laugh with him. An extraordinary father, a devoted husband, and a beloved brother, uncle, and friend—Mike was never afraid to show the world that he loved the people in his life very much.
Mike was an active member and past president of the Men's Club at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church where he and his family attended since moving to South Carolina in 2004. He threw his all into the events and ministries that the men's club hosted over the years, and he especially loved to bring all of his friends together for the annual fishing and golf tournaments. Even though he would be the first to admit that he wasn't the best golfer, he enjoyed getting out to play with his friends at any opportunity.
Born in Cleveland, OH on July 17, 1961, Mike was the son of the late William Milliff and Virginia Pecek. He loved his Ohio sports teams—especially the Cleveland Browns and Ohio State Buckeyes—and he never missed a game.
Mike is survived by his wife, Linda Sebastiano Milliff; daughters Jamie Renee Milliff and Jesse Michelle Milliff; siblings Bill Milliff, Jackie Kawalec, Bob Milliff, Rich Milliff, and Laurie Milliff; a number of loving nieces and nephews; and the whole Davis family who he credited with teaching him what it meant to be a man.
A rosary will be recited at 9:30 am prior to the funeral mass at 10:00 held for Mike on Saturday, January 9th, 2021 at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church conducted by Fr. Dennis B. Willey. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
