Mildred W. Wessinger 92 of Little Mountain SC died September 27 2015 at Palmetto Health Richland. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Chapin by the Rev. David Tholstrup. Interment will follow in the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery in Little Mountain. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30 P.M. on Tuesday at the Whitaker Funeral Home Chapin. The family suggests memorials be made to St. Peter Lutheran Church 900 Dreher Island Road Chapin SC 29036 or to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery Fund PO Box 186 Little Mountain SC 29075. She was born on December 17 1922 in Chapin SC a daughter of the late Charlie Wesley and Eva Pearl Amick Wessinger. Mrs. Wessinger was a homemaker who loved her family and was very devoted to them always putting them first. She was able to acknowledge her great great grandchild who was born a week before her death. She was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Chapin and she enjoyed sewing quilting gardening and apple picking. She also enjoyed going to the beach and the Carolina Opry. Mrs. Wessinger is survived by her daughters Faye (Harold) Rickard and Elvia (Albert) Lindler both of Chapin; son Dwain (Dale) Wessinger of Little Mountain; daughter-in-law Mary Wessinger of Chapin; eight grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and a great great granddaughter. She was predeceased by her husband of 70 years Leroy Wessinger her son Charles Wessinger and her brother Curtis Wessinger. Active pallbearers will be Wayne Lindler Steve Rickard Brandon Wessinger Brian Dietrich Jody Huffstetler Gary Bouknight Olin Wessinger James Bouknight Larry Wessinger Donald Wessinger and Douglas Wessinger.
