Montgomery H. "Monty" Stubblefield 96 formerly of 1403 Azalea Dr. Newberry died Friday March 30 2012 at White Oak Manor. A celebration of his life was at 2:00 pm on Saturday April 28 2012 at Lewis Memorial United Methodist Church led by the Rev. Jimmy Counts. Friends are encouraged to visit with the family immediately after the celebration. He was born on April 29 1915 in Washington DC a son of the late Soloman W. and Anna Ruth Johnson Stubblefield. Mr. Stubblefield was a U.S. Navy veteran of WW II. He retired from the Department of the Navy. He was a member of Lewis Memorial United Methodist Church and Amity Masonic Lodge # 87 A.F.M. He was a Charter member of the Silverstreet Ruritan Club. In his younger years Montgomery was an avid coin collector and throughout his lifetime remained an animal lover. He is survived by his wife of 53 years Sibyl Berry Stubblefield; daughters and son-in-law Diane and Bob Hansen of Coon Rapids MN and Ann Younger of Odenton MD; Step- son and wife Tommy and Judy Mims of Odenton MD; a brother Jack Stubblefield of West Virginia; 10 grandchildren Kylee and David Helzer Lisa Younger Hal and Rita Bowles Tracy and Craig Conover Martin Mims and Lauri and Gary Czajkowski; 6 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren. According to Mr. Stubblefields wishes his ashes were scattered at sunset on the Patuxent River.
