Mary Moriat Nichols Dominick, 74, of Silverstreet, died Friday, May 6, 2016 at Self Regional Medical Center.
Born on December 16, 1941 in Newberry, she was a daughter of the late Leon D. Nichols, Sr. and Sarah Martin Nichols.
She was a good and faithful servant who loved and believed in God with her whole heart. She was a humble witness to all she came in contact with. She attended Restoration Outreach Church, and Silverstreet Lutheran Church, with her husband, and enjoyed Sunday School and Bible study.
Moriat was a devoted mother who taught her children and grandchildren of God's love by example. She was an excellent baker and avid flower gardener. She was the owner of Nichols Photography Studio and specialized in photography restoration.
She is survived by her husband, Gerald A. Dominick of Silverstreet; daughters, Jessica Madray (Leon, Jr.) of Newberry and Caroline Hall of Chapin; grandchildren, Katelyn B. Taylor, James Nichols Hall, and Will M. Madray; step-daughters and their families, Robin D. Still of Cumming, GA, and Meloney D. Timmons of Moncks Corner; siblings, Sarah Ann Fisher (Robert) of Gilbert and Leon D. Nichols, Jr. of Mint Hill, NC; niece and nephews, David Fisher of Gilbert, James Nichols of Taiwan, Hilary Nichols of Raleigh, NC and Talcott Nichols of Virginia Beach, Va.
The family will receive friends on Monday, May 9 from 5:30 to 7:30 PM at the Whitaker Funeral Home, Newberry.
Funeral services will be conducted by Pastor Winston Yoder and Pastor Harry Crout at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, at Aveleigh Presbyterian Church.
A private family burial will follow.
Pallbearers will be Bill Dominick, Leon Madray, James Nichols Hall, Robert Fisher, David Fisher, David Savacool, Aaron Pickrell, and Heather Sprouse Grenning.
