Nancy Bouknight, 82, of Anderson, South Carolina, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on October 7, 2026, passing peacefully at her residence. She was born in Chester, South Carolina, on November 6, 1943, to the late William Ruben and Lizzie Griffin Beckham.
Nancy was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend.
Her heart belonged first to her Lord and Savior and to the family she loved so dearly. Nancy found endless pride and happiness in her sons; her life was so richly blessed by the love and laughter of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought her immeasurable joy. She cherished every moment with family and leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue through the generations.
A dedicated member of Giving Hope Fellowship, Nancy was much more than a parishioner. She was a vibrant, welcoming, and deeply loved presence within her church family. Her faith was the foundation and guiding light of her life, and her kindness, service, and love for others touched countless lives. Nancy’s life was a beautiful testament to faith, family, love, and service. She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Nancy is survived by sisters, Jean Hendrix (Von) and Helen Mitchell (David); as well as her sons, Craig Bouknight (Vickie), and Chris Bouknight (Stephanie); grandchildren, Ashton Vernia (Ryan), Celeste Griffin, Morgan Bouknight, Tori Buchanan, and Joseph Chastain; great-grandchildren, Peyton and Parker; along with numerous extended family members, all of whom will carry her memory in their hearts.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Roger Arnold Bouknight; daughter, Sharon Annette Bouknight; grandson, Christopher Griffin; great- granddaughter, Harper Rae Vernia; sister, Marge Jo; and brother, Don.
Although her family grieves deeply at her passing, they find comfort in knowing that Nancy is now fully healed, whole, and at peace in the presence of her Heavenly Father. The family rejoices in the promise of her faith and looks forward to the day they will be reunited with her again.
Graveside services will be held at 3:00 PM on Monday, October 12, 2026, at Newberry Memorial Gardens. Officiated by Rev. Mari Gonlag.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions in Nancy’s honor be made to New Hope Fellowship, 233 New Hope Road, Anderson, SC 29626.
